Aesthetic Style: Minimalist/Industrial
Place: Choa Chu Kang
Dark Academia combines Minimalism, Brutalism, Bauhaus, and Industrial styles, with a dark grey monochrome theme. Since this unit already came with glossy flooring, there was no major rehaul of the floor, with vinyl flooring overlayed for the entire house (excluding the bathrooms)
The countertop is a Kompac Plus, which is extremely thin, at 6mm only, instead of the conventional 20mm granite countertop. We also executed a lime wash wall in the living room using a special effect textured paint.
Lastly, a decking overlay on the balcony replaces the tiled default flooring. We managed to flush the balcony level with the rest of the home with the thick decking, as initially, there was a slight drop from the living room to the balcony.
